Creating Our Spanish Cleaning Shop

Since picking up the keys for our shop two weeks, it has been non-stop ever since! So what has our first two weeks looked like?
I have mainly been dressed in some form of paint-stained clothing, and the to-do list has felt never-ending.
I started two weeks ago with a dusty front room that hadn't been used in a good few months and an entrance that had been a storage cupboard for 5+ years. With a goal of turning it into a Spanish cleaning shop.

So the first job was to get some cleaning done. Thankfully, I had some supplies ready for that. After an early Sunday morning clean, it was time to get some color on the walls. Three coats, two days, and countless brews later, the main Spanish cleaning shop space was looking fresh.
Next up was planning how I wanted the room to look and where everything would go. After a few reshuffles, it was time for a trip to the flat-pack holy grail... IKEA. One iconic Kallax unit later, and it started to look like a shop and not a front room. Add in a trip to B&M for a trolley full of things that were not on the list, a trip to Costco, the kitchen was stocked, and I could finally make use of the coffee machine.

Finally, it was time for the most exciting part: ordering our first big stock order of spanish cleaning products. After misjudging how many boxes I could actually fit in my car from the warehouse, it was back to IKEA for another Kallax unit and also Amazon for some shelving and packaging tables. It actually looked like a Spanish cleaning shop now.
It was time to tackle the entrance, so back into painting stained clothes and cleaning cloths at the ready to tackle the spider webs. Honestly, it was like a bushtucker trial!
After a paint color consultation with the boss (my 11-year-old niece who has been the project manager during school holidays), the first coat was applied. I only seem to remember to take a photo after I've started painting.
Another late night waiting for the first coat to dry, ready for coat two, and an early morning to apply the third coat resulted in an impulse decision to paint the door green. Another trip to IKEA for a doormat - which I am still not 100% sold on, again the boss's decision, not mine!
I still have a considerable to-do list before we open on 31st August. Luckily, I've roped my family into coming and doing the things I can't, like drilling holes and fixing light fittings, etc. However, I am so happy when I come in and see how far along it has come in 14 days.
Also super grateful for everyone who has ordered from my TikTok shop and on the website, definitely enjoy seeing what people have ordered and seeing where in the country they are off to.
So for now, I better get back to ticking things off my to-do list. First up is seeing what else I can put on the 'boss' to-do list – only fair, she's kept busy!
